About
Josh is an experienced freelance songwriter and producer, with millions of streams of his work. He has also had songs played across BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, ITV, and Channel 4, as well as placements on Spotify playlists such as New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, The Indie List, and many more.Growing up near to the vibrant music scene in Nottingham, Josh cut his teeth busking and playing any open mic night or gig he could. Whilst he enjoyed playing at large venues and festivals, such as Rock City and Nottingham’s Splendour Festival, he found a preference for a behind-the-scenes role, and dedicated his passion into writing and production.
His wide range of musical influences include Death Cab For Cutie, Bon Iver, Ben Folds, Jon Bellion, Radiohead and Fall Out Boy. All of which shaped his listening from a young age, and continue to do so.He lives a little over an hour out of King’s Cross with his wife, Lisa, and soon-to-be cat. When he’s not working in his home studio, he can be found obsessing over his next coffee bean purchase.
The Studio
The studio is a dedicated space for artists, vocalists and creatives to work on their music with a like-minded professional.The studio space was created to provide a safe atmosphere for people to express themselves creatively in a welcoming environment, allowing comfort and supporting the bloom of sincere, original ideas.
My studio is located in Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, about an hour’s train journey from King’s Cross. As well as excellent coffee and acoustic treatment, it is equipped with:

It is pivotal to get vocal production right for each song. I believe my own experience as a vocalist gives me an edge and insight into harmony, tone and feeling to help you forge a direction when recording your vocals.I use Logic Pro X, a BAE 1073 MPL, the Lauten Atlantis FC-387, and a variety of other tools to achieve a high standard of vocal recording for a variety of genres. If you already have a produced song but you want a quality vocal recording to shine above it, I can help.
Music Production
Production is a significant yet flexible element of the songwriting process, highlighting the lyrics and raising the song to another level. I have produced for a variety of artists and labels in a multitude of genres, from acoustic and folk to synth-pop and hyper-pop. I really enjoy making unique sounds as well as recording vocals and guitars.
Songwriting
Songwriting is the most meaningful aspect of music to me. During my career and 15 years writing songs, I have written with phenomenal songwriters and producers, as both a writer and an artist, amassing cuts on Universal, Warner, Sony and others.I’m always open to new music and to help you write some cool songs.
